I have been saying this for years Obama needs to step up and take charge, but he will not do it, why, he is not running for President again?

Ripple effects of Obama's amateurism.

Even in criticizing Obama the left pulls its punches and hopes against hope that he will recover and be the great man they know in their hearts he can be.  In spite of failure after failure leftist pundits continue to blame George W. Bush and the Republicans for everything bad that happens in and to America.

More hypocracy from the left, many, many liberals are rich and they are never going to sacrifice their children's elete private school education even though they love to talk about improving education in America.  Just ask yourself why private schools at all levels are packed with liberal professors and teachers, if these people really believed in quality education for all would'nt they be teaching in public schools?

LITTLE GIRL & AN ATHEIST.

An  atheist was seated next to a little girl on an  airplane and he turned to her and said, "Do you  want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up  a conversation with your fellow passenger."

The  little girl, who had just started to read her book,  replied to the total stranger, "What would you  want to talk about?"

"Oh, I don't know," said  the atheist. "How about why there is no God, or no  Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?" as he smiled  smugly.

"Okay," she said. "Those could be  interesting topics but let me ask you a question  first.  A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same  stuff - grass.   Yet a deer excretes little pellets,  while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse  produces clumps.   Why do you suppose that  is?"

The atheist, visibly surprised by the  little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and  says, "Hmmm, I have no idea." To which the little  girl replies,   "Do you really feel qualified to discuss  God, Heaven and Hell, or life after death, when  you don't know shit?"

And then she went back to  reading her  book.

Freedom of the Press

What is Freedom of the Press?

In Lovell v. Griffin (1938), Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes wrote for a unanimous Supreme Court: “The liberty of the press is not confined to newspapers and periodicals. It necessarily embraces pamphlets and leaflets. These indeed have been historic weapons in the defense of liberty, as the pamphlets of Thomas Paine and others in our own history abundantly attest. The press in its connotation comprehends every sort of publication which affords a vehicle of information and opinion.” . . .

The New York Times (Hat Tip: James Taranto):
But in a debate that has focused largely on women, this fact is often overlooked: the majority of service members who are sexually assaulted each year are men.
In its latest report on sexual assault, the Pentagon estimated that 26,000 service members experienced unwanted sexual contact in 2012, up from 19,000 in 2010. Of those cases, the Pentagon says, 53 percent involved attacks on men, mostly by other men.

Obama needs to take Econ 101.

One day after the president declared war on coal and committed his administration to making electricity – and, thus, just about everything else – more expensive, the 1st quarter GDP growth figures were revised down from a tepid 2.4 percent to an anemic 1.8 percent.

According to the fawning main stream American media Obama gave an "Historic" speech in Germany, the cite of historic speeches by former Presidents Kennedy and Regan, others outside the MSM have a different view:

If you want more evidence that the Washington Post is in the bag for Obama just look at today's headline:  "Medicare's future appears brighter- TRUST FUND'S LIFE EXTENDED 2 YEARS - Health law cited; Social Security outlook is stable", now compare that with other publications that report " Medicare will reach insolvency by 2026 while Social Security’s two trust funds will become insolvent by 2033, the program’s trustees reported Friday"  In addition, the Social Security Disability trust fund will be insolvent by 2016 the next presidential election year.  The Post took a negative story and turned it positive even claiming Obama Care ( they don't use that term) is the reason things are looking so rosy. This would be comical if it weren't so pathetic.

The Washington Post sent a representative to an "Off the Record" meeting with Eric Holder and then printed a story cleared by the Justice Department summarizing the meeting, so what I have suspected all along is now official the Post is the house organ for the Obama administration.  You can bet your last dollar that no subpoenas will be requested for Post staffer's e-mails.  The paper should now change its name to the Washington Post Democrat.

Maybe more government is not the answer.

“In Sweden you’ve got welfare, access to the educational system – up to university level, you got access to public transport, libraries, healthcare – to everything. And still they feel that they [immigrants] need to riot through stones and Molotov cocktails. It’s ridiculous and a bad excuse,” Swedish Democrats MP Kent Ekeroth told RT.

What the hell is tax exempt status and why do we even have it in our tax code?

Yesterday there was a big to do in the news about Apple Corp. shielding profits by hiding them overseas, I suspect that Apple is not the only company given our confiscatory corporate tax structure, but what is truly amazing is the tax exempt status of so many organizations like churches, labor unions and political advocacy groups.

In recent years, more organizations involved in political causes have applied for tax exempt status under section 501(c)(4) of the tax code, which allows them to keep the names of their donors secret.

Members of congress, and the media should stop trying to play got ya with the current administration and focus on the real scandal OUR TAX CODE.
And then this........

The six Cincinnati workers we have identified, who sent scrutinizing letters to conservative groups with words including “patriot, liberty, tea party or 9-12″ in their names are Mitchel Steele, Carly Young, Joseph Herr, Stephen Seok, Liz Hofacre and a woman identified only as Ms. Richards.
But was all of this done at the hands of a small group of Cincinnati employees working together? During Friday’s congressional hearing, that appeared to be the theme. Now, that explanation just became less likely.
Thanks to two FOX19 sources connected to the IRS, we now understand the chain of command for these workers.
Mitchel Steele, Carly Young, Joseph Herr and Liz Hofacre are IRS agents. Stephen Seok is a supervisor IRS agent.
But according to the IRS employee directory that FOX19 has obtained exclusively, each of these agents has a different manager and then above them a different territory manager.
That is important because while it may sound reasonable to the average person that these workers began targeting groups on their own, the IRS structure is designed to prevent that.

What did Obama know and when did he know it?

The media are shifting into high gear in their defense of President Obama, blaming the Republicans for pushing the scandal button when there is really nothing there.  Its the same thing they did when Clinton was impeached, remember, its a private matter.  Benghazi, the IRS and the AP wire taps were all done without the President's knowledge and the Republicans are blowing them all out of proportion, it is another example of the complete partisanship of the main stream media, don't ever expect it to change.
Compare this to Steven Rattner's (former Obama car czar) claim in the NY Times this day that the White House had nothing to do with the IRS scandal.

Benghazi-Does it matter at this point?

Both parties are wrong about Benghazi. Existing evidence does not point to a far-reaching cover-up on the scale of Watergate, as Republicans want you to believe. But it is not, as the White House claims, nothing.
The administration’s response to the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on U.S. installations in eastern Libya was inaccurate, irresponsible and shrouded by campaign-style spin. It belied President Obama’s oft-broken promise to run a transparent government.
If nothing else, Benghazi is a blow to the credibility of the president and his potential successor, then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. This could be big.  National Journal, Ron Fournier 5/10/2013

My conclusion is that the Democratic Party establishment are by and large hypocritical, elitist and racist, examples are everywhere, just look at how Clarence Thomas is treated by the left.  The Richardson/Cruz story is just another example, if you don't agree with them you are worthless.

The number of Americans receiving disability benefits exceeds the entire population of Greece.

According to newly released data from the Social Security Administration, the record 10,962,532 total disability beneficiaries in April, included a record 8,865,586 disabled workers (up from 8,853,614 in March), 1,936,236 children of disabled workers, and 160,710 spouses of disabled workers.
According to its latest census, Greece had only 10,815,197 residents.

The unemployment rate dipped slightly to 7.5 percent in April, but that’s little consolation for the millions of workers who have dropped out of the labor force altogether.

MAUREEN DOWD: Say, Obama’s not actually that good at being President, is he? “Actually, it is his job to get them to behave. The job of the former community organizer and self-styled uniter is to somehow get this dunderheaded Congress, which is mind-bendingly awful, to do the stuff he wants them to do. It’s called leadership. He still thinks he’ll do his thing from the balcony and everyone else will follow along below. That’s not how it works.”

Why is the U.S. Economy So Slow to Recover?

Since late 2007, the Fed has pumped more than $2 trillion into the U.S. economy by buying bonds. Economist Allan Meltzer asked: "Why is there such a weak response to such an enormous amount of stimulus, especially monetary stimulus?" The answer, he said, is that the obstacles to faster economic growth are not mainly monetary. Instead, they lie mostly with business decisions to invest and hire; these, he argued, are discouraged by the Obama administration's policies to raise taxes or, through Obamacare's mandate to buy health insurance for workers, to increase the cost of hiring.

The New Welfare?

Very Interesting.............

There are actually two messages here. The first is very interesting, but the second is absolutely astounding - and explains a lot. A recent "Investor's Business Daily" article provided very interesting statistics from a survey by the United Nations International Health Organization.

Percentage of men and women who survived a cancer five years after diagnosis:

U.S. 65%

England 46%

Canada 42%

Percentage of patients diagnosed with diabetes who received treatment within six months:

U.S. 93%

England 15%

Canada 43%

Percentage of seniors needing hip replacement who received it within six months:

U.S. 90%

England 15%

Canada 43%

Percentage referred to a medical specialist who see one within one month:

U.S. 77%

England 40%

Canada 43%

Number of MRI scanners (a prime diagnostic tool) per million people:

U.S. 71

England 14

Canada 18

Percentage of seniors (65+), with low income, who say they are in "excellent health":

U.S. 12%

England 2%

Canada 6%

And now for the last statistic:

National Health Insurance?

U.S. NO

England YES

Canada YES

Check this last set of statistics!!

The percentage of each past president's cabinet who had worked in the private business sector prior to their appointment to the cabinet.
You know what the private business sector is; a real-life business, not a government job. Here are the percentages.

T. Roosevelt.................... 38%

Taft................................ 40%

Wilson ........................... 52%

Harding........................... 49%

Coolidge......................... 48%

Hoover............................ 42%

F. Roosevelt..................... 50%

Truman........................... 50%

Eisenhower................ .... 57%

Kennedy......................... 30%

Johnson.......................... 47%

Nixon.............................. 53%

Ford................................ 42%

Carter............................. 32%

Reagan............................ 56%

GH Bush.......................... 51%

Clinton .......................... 39%

GW Bush........................ 55%

Obama............................. 8%

This helps to explain the incompetence of this administration: only 8% of them have ever worked in private business!

That's right! Only eight percent---the least, by far, of the last 19

Red White

Red White: U.S. Treasury official Harry Dexter White is best known as one of the leading architects of the Bretton Woods system that shaped the global economy after World War II. But he was also a spy for the Soviet Union, providing secret information and giving advice on economic issues. Why did he do it? Newly uncovered documents show that this champion of postwar global capitalism was actually a passionate believer in the success of the Soviet experiment with socialism.

"Silence of the Drones"

"Silence of the Drones" - I love this phrase because it accurately describes the program now in use to further  US foreign and domestic policy, and it describes the lack of public outcry to a government program with no  apparent checks and balances.  I am not completely against the use of drones to eliminate foreign enemy combatants but I would like to know how the selection process works and how it could potentially be applied in the domestic arena.  I vividly remember the "enemies list" that was the subject of outrage during the Nixon years.  The potential for government abuse here is frightening.
