Biden Wisdom!

"It's mostly important that everyone in this room understand the other team is not the enemy. If you treat it as the enemy, there is no way you can ever, ever, ever resolve the problems we have," Biden said in concluding his remarks.

Trust the Media?

Gallop says that 4 in ten people in the U.S. trust the media and that more Democrats trust the media than Republicans, I don't find this surprising.

Gerrymandering, What Gerrymandering?

I hear a lot of BS from Decmocrats about how the GOP holds the House of Representatives through the practice known as gerrymandering, well here is an example of what the Democrats have done in Maryland.

he 6th District, which starts in Potomac and Gaithersburg and extends nearly 200 miles to Garrett County in far western Maryland, was redrawn—gerrymandered, critics say—in 2011 to boost chances of electing a Democrat; about half of the district’s registered voters now reside in Montgomery County. But Delaney, after winning comfortably in his first run, squeaked by Republican Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, by only 50 percent to 48 percent in 2014. Bongino earlier this year moved out of Maryland for a job in Florida, leaving national as well as local Republicans to eye the district.

More Evidence of Media Bias

I have posted many instances of  the media bias in favor of the liberal/left-wing in America, here is another case of blatant support for the current leftist adminstration and its policies.  These people have no shame and defile the term journalist.

Martin O'Malley for President?

Martin Joseph O'Malley (born January 18, 1963) was the 61st Governor of Maryland, from 2007 to 2015, and is running for President of the United States in the 2016 election. Prior to being elected as Governor, he served as the Mayor of Baltimore from 1999 to 2007 and was a Baltimore City Councilor from 1991 to 1999.

How can O'Malley escape responsibility for what has happened and is happening in Baltimore?

The $15 Minimum Wage Rage

Seattle Washington and Washington DC are preparing to raise their minimum wage to $15 per hour, this seems like a lot of money but it only amounts to $31,200 per year for full time employees.  In fact most employees in $15 per hour jobs are part time.  Nevertheless $15 per hour is an attractive wage for menial type jobs requiring little or no skills, so my hope is that every illegal, I mean undocumented, person in the United States makes a bee line for the Washingtons and starts lineing up for those jobs, of course there won't be that many jobs available because most businesses employing such people will be automating the functions they would perform.  The hourly wage would be better spent by paying low skill potential workers to go to school or back to school to learn skills that would make them employable.

Democrats in Trouble

As this article shows the Democratic Party is not fairing well in the nation as a whole, the author dosen't say it but I will, the main reason for the Democrat's decline among the nation's voters is a complete lack of presidential leadership.  The leftist media won't criticize President Obama's lack of leadership, instead he is extolled as an idealistic man of great vision.

Clintons are Pathological Liars

After months of silence President Bill Clinton admitted that he had an "Inappropriate" sexual relationship with Monica Lewinski, but claimed he did nothing "illegal".  Does this sound familiar?  Hilary Clinton admits that she used and unauthorized server to conduct government business, including classified matters, and destroyed some of the records she created and received but claims that she did nothing illegal.  One has to ask the question: What is the matter with these people, do they at long last have no shame?

If Petraeus is guilty so is Hilary Clinton

David H. Petraeus, a retired general considered one of the greatest military minds of his generation, pleaded guilty Thursday to a misdemeanor charge of mishandling classified materials, ending a long-running legal saga that had threatened to send him to prison.

Petraeus, who admitted he provided the materials to his former mistress and biographer, will instead face a two-year probationary period. U.S. Magistrate Judge David Keesler also imposed a $100,000 fine — more than double the amount recommended by prosecutors — to reflect the “seriousness of the offense.”

Hillary Clinton's Criminal Conduct?

Title 18 of the U.S. Code defines criminal conduct punishable by fine or imprisonment, Section 2071 reads as follows:

Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

(b) Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States. As used in this subsection, the term “office” does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.

If Secretary Clinton destroyed federal records in her position she committed a crime under this section of the law.

Who is Camille Paglia?

I must confess, although I've heard the name, that I had no idea what Camille Paglia was all about until the Salon interview.   I don't agree with everything she said in the interview, but I was impressed by her candid analysis of many subjects from feminism to politics and found my self nodding my head and saying to myself "that makes a lot of sense".  I hope Salon will forgive me for posting the interview on my little blog, which nobody will ever see, I just wanted a record of what this extrordinary woman had to say so I could refer to it in the future.

Straight Talk from Camille Paglia

In her recent interview with her employer Salon magazine Camille Paglia says a lot about modern culture from religion to comedy to politics, and amazingly much of what she says rings true to me a confirmed moderate who longs for the good of days of the 1960s.  When asked how she started her news reading day Puglia said she starts with The Drudge Report, as do I, at this point she had me.  She lost me a little bit when she professed her support for Martin O'Malley, whose politcies and rule in Maryland caused the Baltimore riots in my opinion, but she won me back with her astute analysis of Donald Trump.

Kate Steinle

I am wondering what goes through President Obama's mind, as soon as two black men are shot and killed, one in Florida and one in Missouri, he is in front of the cameras prostylicizing about the tragic circumstances of the killings and how the country needs to take a hard look at itself in the mirror.  Yet, he has not said a word about the tragic murder of Kate Steinle in San Francisco.

California water shortage, who will it affect?

Who in the state of California is using up all the water?  Recently Gov. Brown imposed usage restrictions, supposedly on all Californians, but will they be applied fairly?  This is a picture of Steven Spielberg's Pacific Palacades house, how much water do you this he uses in this house, multiply that by the hundreds if not thousands of rich Californians and their mansions and you can quickly see where the water is going.  Drain all the swimming pools - problem solved.

Maybe Edward Snowden was right?

What the US Government does behind closed doors is a mystery to most Americans, Water Gate era laws ( FOIA, Privacy Act of 1974 and Government in the Sunshine Act) were supposed to make it easier for citizens to find information about what kinds of records the government keeps and how it operates, but as this piece shows every administration finds ways to maintain the cloak of secrecy.

The Government Wants to Regulate the Internet - Are you Kidding Me?

It is simply mind boggling that there are people in this country that think centralized government regulation is the answer to all of our problems.  A recent article in Wired Magazine "Flying Blind, The Tech-Unfriendly Skies" talked about the FAA's efforts to modernize air traffic control,  a process that began in 2002 and won't be complete until the summer of 2015 and which is 500 million dollars over budget.  The author Sara Breselor blamed government rules and standards which require new technology to comply with outdated and often irrelevant regulations and stated that these same issues were at the core of the HealthCare.gov and VA fiascos.  It is painfully obvious that some people do not learn from past mistakes, now the FCC wants to get its hands on the internet, one of the few things in this country that works without the help of government regulation.

The Left is Really After Scott Walker

First the Washington Post went after Scott Walker for not finishing college, implying that he dropped out for suspicious reasons, now the New York Times is "correcting" a story claiming that he was responsible for the lay-off of an outstanding teacher, the only problem with the story was that she got laid-off before he took office.  The leftist media have no shame and in my mind no credibility.

Brian Williams Isn't the First

Brian Williams' admission that he fabricated a story is not the first nor, I contend, will it be the last case of the media making up stories for a variety of reasons.  In this case it was to pump up his persona, which isn't so bad considering he is not a journalist but a tv personality.   The unfortunate thing is that the ever shrinking audiance he plays to keeps watching his program and believes that what he says is mostly true.  It should be apparent, but is not, that the major media organizations in this country have agendas and is following them in what they choose to report.  If there are no real stories to further their agendas they make up stories or alter the facts of stories to support their views. It is not something new, Walter Duranty a reporter for the New York Times in the 1930 reported on the Soviet Union during the time of Stalin's efforts to remake that country into a communist utopia and apparently bought into the regime's propaganda in reporting the successes that were allegedly achieved.  What Mr. Duranty missed, wheather purposely or not, was that Stalin starved millions of Ukranians in order to acheive his goals.  The Times printed his stories and readers knew nothing of the starvation until much later, in fact most people never heard of the mass murder until decades later,  but the Times and Mr. Duranty had an agenda, and still do to this day, does anyone remeber Jayson Blair the Times reporter who fabricated stories in 2003.  The New York Times and NBC are not alone in the alleged persuit of the truth, remeber Dan Rather late of CBS News, Peter Arnet of CNN, Janet Cook of the Washington Post, or how about Rolling Stone Magazine and the UVA gang rape story?  The mass media in this country is out of control and will remain so until the public wises up and stops watching and reading, but that is not likely to happen, come Monday no one will remember Brain Williams' lie.

Friday, January 9, 2015

Does anyone remember Februry 2013?  I know people in general have short memories, but the media really can't remember anything, or they conveniently forget what they were previously so worked up over.  Back then the sequester had just been agreed to and the media was as usual spounting the Obama line that the economy would be ruined by the draconian cuts insisted upon by those selfish Republicans, in fact Obama was barnstorming the country like chicken little warning of breadlines and tent cities on the national mall.  Well, fast forward to January 2015, the economy grew 5% in the last quarter and unemployment has droped to 5.6%, but does anybody in the media remember their dire predictions, hell no.  What has really happened is the government has gotten out of the way of the economy allowing it to grow, now if it could only move over just a little more, say to the right, and reform the tax code we might see something great.  Oh, and by the way some lefties, specifically Martin O'Malley of Maryland, are blaming sequester for the shortfall in the state budget that his tax and spend policies created, and this guy wants to run for President, good luck with that buddy.
