Compare the current media frenzy over Herman Cain's sexual harassment case that occurred over a decade ago with the media's lack of interest in John Edwards ongoing sexual relations during the 2008 presidential election. I detect a slight difference, or am I just being overly critical, we all know the media is completely neutral in political matters.

An earthquake of 5.9 or 5.8 magnitude occurred in central Virginia and was felt widely in the Mid-Atlantic area today. The epicenter was near Lake Anna and caused some damage in the Washington Metro area. The quake was felt as far south as North Carolina, as far north as Boston, and as far west as Ohio.
Cell phone service was impossible because the air waves were clogged by people calling to report the quake or checking on loved ones. In an incredible example of media stupidity radio and television stations were telling people to use their cell phones in real emergencies only and then proceeded to solicit eye witness accounts of the earthquake from people, you guessed it, using their cell phones.

John or Johnny Edwards is surely one of the most despicable persons to have walked the political stage, but the most amazing non-story behind his demise is the fact that the leading lights of the Democratic Party could not see through him. Not once, but twice the Democrats considered nominating him to run for the presidency, and did in fact put him on the national ticket in the second spot in 2004. How could this have happened? Edwards said all the right things and therefore the national media gave him a pass, he was a true liberal. Compare the treatment of Edwards to the media attention paid to the Republican candidate for vice president in 2008. Edwards had at least one mistress and an out of wedlock baby while running for president and no one in the media, except the National Inquirer reported on it, but when Palin wrote her book "Going Rouge" the AP assigned 11 reporters to fact check it, think there is a disparity there.
