If Petraeus is guilty so is Hilary Clinton

David H. Petraeus, a retired general considered one of the greatest military minds of his generation, pleaded guilty Thursday to a misdemeanor charge of mishandling classified materials, ending a long-running legal saga that had threatened to send him to prison.

Petraeus, who admitted he provided the materials to his former mistress and biographer, will instead face a two-year probationary period. U.S. Magistrate Judge David Keesler also imposed a $100,000 fine — more than double the amount recommended by prosecutors — to reflect the “seriousness of the offense.”

Hillary Clinton's Criminal Conduct?

Title 18 of the U.S. Code defines criminal conduct punishable by fine or imprisonment, Section 2071 reads as follows:

Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

(b) Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States. As used in this subsection, the term “office” does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.

If Secretary Clinton destroyed federal records in her position she committed a crime under this section of the law.

Who is Camille Paglia?

I must confess, although I've heard the name, that I had no idea what Camille Paglia was all about until the Salon interview.   I don't agree with everything she said in the interview, but I was impressed by her candid analysis of many subjects from feminism to politics and found my self nodding my head and saying to myself "that makes a lot of sense".  I hope Salon will forgive me for posting the interview on my little blog, which nobody will ever see, I just wanted a record of what this extrordinary woman had to say so I could refer to it in the future.

Straight Talk from Camille Paglia

In her recent interview with her employer Salon magazine Camille Paglia says a lot about modern culture from religion to comedy to politics, and amazingly much of what she says rings true to me a confirmed moderate who longs for the good of days of the 1960s.  When asked how she started her news reading day Puglia said she starts with The Drudge Report, as do I, at this point she had me.  She lost me a little bit when she professed her support for Martin O'Malley, whose politcies and rule in Maryland caused the Baltimore riots in my opinion, but she won me back with her astute analysis of Donald Trump.

Kate Steinle

I am wondering what goes through President Obama's mind, as soon as two black men are shot and killed, one in Florida and one in Missouri, he is in front of the cameras prostylicizing about the tragic circumstances of the killings and how the country needs to take a hard look at itself in the mirror.  Yet, he has not said a word about the tragic murder of Kate Steinle in San Francisco.
